WHAT IS EMDR THERAPY (EYE MOVEMENT DESENSITISATION  AND REPROCESSING) AND HOW CAN IT HELP ME?

 

Life experiences are sadly sometimes so challenging and traumatic that they can leave us unable to stop reliving the awfulness of them; thoughts and images invade our minds during the day and when we are asleep, making it very difficult to function as effectively as we would want.

 

EMDR is a specialist approach involving eye movement which engages the brain in a precise way to help us to recover from traumatic experiences. EMDR is now a well researched and highly reputable therapy which compliments more typical talking therapy, allowing us to manage the difficult memories and associated fears to a level where we can live again in relative mindful peace.
