WHAT IS IT DYADIC DEVELOPMENTAL PSYCHOTHERAPY (DDP) AND HOW COULD IT HELP ME?

DDP focuses on the importance of the dyad of relationships, such as between parent and child or young person. DDP is a treatment approach to trauma, loss, or other dysregulating experiences; it is based on the principles of attachment theory.
DDP is family-centred and involves creating a safe space for the child or young person to explore the mechanisms which may have integrated to establish frightening emotions such as shame, guilt and fear. Through gentle and curious exploration the aim of DDP is to rekindle broken attachments and build shoots of secure attachment to protect against the evolution of further psychopathology.
