WHAT IS CBT AND HOW COULD IT HELP ME?
CBT can be especially useful for those of us who feel trapped in recurring cycles of unhelpful thoughts or behaviours. Life is stressful and we inevitably feel anxious at times when faced with challenging situations.
CBT provides a platform for coping with stress and anxiety through psychoeducation around how to modify patterns of negative thinking. CBT approaches enable us to develop techniques to make more accurate distinctions between perception and reality so that we can appraise any given scenario with greater clarity; this can increase our adaptive coping capacity.
